Supervisory Responsibility:
General Description of the Job Class
Responsible for compliance with:1) the overall nursing practice standard of the specialty area in which assigned, reporting to Department Director; 2) unit standards during assigned shift, reporting to House Supervisor. By utilizing established principles of delegation, supervision and independent judgement to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources during assigned shift.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Requires current unrestricted license to practice as a Registerd Nurse in the state of North Carolina; BSN preferred.
Experience
One to three years previous supervisory experience highly preferred; three to five years previous clinical nursing experience in applicable specialty area required.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Requires current American Heart Association BLS certification. National certification in area of speciality preferred.
